About the Role

This is a Casual position Program music selections, prepare and host in-person, fill-in air shifts as assigned, including: advance preparation of music listings according to music guidelines, posting in Composer 2 for web, presenting all program elements (underwriting, promos, traffic/weather/news etc.) as scheduled, in a personal way that engages the listener and speaks to WXXI's Core Values. Program and host a weekly, two-hour radio program on The Route according to music guidelines. Carry out operation of Radio Master Control Studio, including: CD players, Enco Audio delivery System, live and direct satellite feeds, microphones, EAS tests, and programs from automated playlists.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, or equivalent combination of education and work related experience preferred.

  • Minimum two years' experience in news operations and production.

  • Xpression graphics & Avid Newscutter editing experience a plus.

  • Fluency in English with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills with ability to manage multiple projects with competing priorities.

  • Available to work extended hours if needed.
